Analyzing Grant-Free Access for URLLC Service

چکیده
5G New Radio (NR) is expected to support new ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) service targeting at supporting the small packets transmissions with very stringent latency and reliability requirements. Current Long Term Evolution (LTE) system has been designed based on grant-based (GB) (i.e., dynamic grant) random access, which can hardly URLLC Grant-free (GF) configured access proposed as a feasible promising technology meet such requirements, especially for uplink transmissions, effectively saves time of requesting/waiting grant. While some basic GF features have standardized in NR Release-15, there still much space improve. Being 3GPP study items, three schemes Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) retransmissions including Reactive, K-repetition, Proactive, are analyzed this article. Specifically, we present spatio-temporal analytical framework contention-based analysis. Based framework, define latent failure probability characterize performances. We propose tractable approach derive analyze typical UE under HARQ schemes. Our results show that shorter constraints, Proactive scheme provides lowest probability, whereas, longer K-repetition achieves depends K. If K overestimated, lower than scheme.

Grant-free Multiple Access for Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications in a Large-Scale Antenna System
In this paper, a grant-free multiple access scheme is proposed for ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) in a large-scale antenna system. The proposed scheme is designed for URLLC with sporadic uplink traffic characteristics and a statistically delay-optimal resource allocation is performed at the time of each user’s service negotiation. According to the resource allocation, the fra...
متن کاملGrant-free Radio Access IoT Networks: Scalability Analysis in Coexistence Scenarios
IoT networks with grant-free radio access, like SigFox and LoRa, offer low-cost durable communications over unlicensed band. These networks are becoming more and more popular due to the ever-increasing need for ultra durable, in terms of battery lifetime, IoT networks. Most studies evaluate the system performance assuming single radio access technology deployment. In this paper, we study the im...

Support massive connectivity is an important requirement in 5G wireless communication system. For massive Machine Type Communication (MTC) scenario, since the network is expected to accommodate a massive number of MTC devices with sparse short message, the multiple access scheme like current LTE uplink would not be suitable. In order to reduce the signaling overhead, we consider an grant-free m...
